the paradox of feeling

when sorrow
becomes too heavy
to carry
the lips curve
into a hollow laugh

when joy
reaches the sun
it rains from the eyes
in the form of
salt and water

and when anger
finally peaks
it does not scream
it turns into
a deafening
silence
